Title:
CATALYST FOR CONVERTING CARBON MONOXIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61268358
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance the heat resistance and durability of a catalyst for carbon monoxide converting reaction for forming carbon dioxide, by forming a ferrous catalyst wherein the size of fine pores is relatively large and the width of fine pore size distribution is narrow.

CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution containing an iron oxide source stock material such as iron sulfate, iron nitrate or iron chloride and a chromium oxide source stock material such as ammonium chromate, soldium bichromate or chromium nitrate is continuously mixed with an alkali solution to precipitate iron and chromium. As the alkaline substance, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and aqueous ammonia can be used. It is necessary to enlarge the size of fine pores in the iron oxide/chromium oxide catalyst from the precipitate and to narrow the width of the fine pore size distribution thereof. For the sake thereof, it is necessary to select a precipitation condition such as pH, temp., air blowing or stirring.
