Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method for the deactivation of a catalyst for an oxymethylene copolymer after the polymn.
SOLUTION: An oxymethylene copolymer coming out of a polymerizer is ground with a grinder and subjected to a treatment for deactivating the polymn. catalyst with a basic compd. The grinder has a fixed element, a rotating element, a rotation drive unit, and a grinding-product dischage port 11 equipped with an inlet port 10 for the material being ground and a screen mesh 8. Each of the fixed and rotating elements has one or more rows of projections intermittently installed vertically on concentric circles on a disk-like substrate. The grinding is enabled by rotating the rotating element with certain clearances between projections 1, 2, 3 installed on the concentric circles on the rotating element and projections 5, 6 installed on the concentric circles on the fixed element 4, 5.
