Title:
CATALYST FOR DECOMPOSING ORGANOSULFUR COMPONENT, NOX AND DIENES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH034937
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decompose and remove not only organosulfur and NOx but also dienes in coke oven gas simultaneously and efficiently by using a carrier prepared by supporting iron oxide, zinc oxide and copper oxide by a carrier and further adding a basic compound to said carrier.

CONSTITUTION: Iron oxide, zinc oxide and copper oxide are supported by a carrier and a basic compound is added to said carrier to obtain a catalyst. By the use of this catalyst, the organosulfor component, NOx and dienes in coke oven gas for coal gas are decomposed and removed. As the carrier, CaO, SiO2, Al2O3, MgO or TiO2 are used alone or appropriately mixed before use. Iron oxide is pref. used in an ultrafine powder form. This catalyst is prepared by a method wherein iron oxide, zinc oxide and copper oxide are mixed as the carrier, the basic compound (e.g. CaO, NaHCO2) as an additive and water added thereto to perform mixing and granulation and the formed granules are lightly baked. The regeneration of the catalyst is performed by sending a small amount of air and stream in the catalyst.
