To improve productivity by eliminating the welding part and facilitate forming by simplifying the shape of a pipe section.
The exhaust device is provided with a pipe part 193A composing a part of an exhaust pipe connecting to an engine, a catalyst 194 stored in the pipe part 193A, and spacers 195A and 195B made of elastic material interposed between the pipe part 193A and the catalyst 194. A catalyst assembly body 217 is formed by fitting the spacers 195A, 195B to the both ends of the catalyst 194, the catalyst assembly body 217 is inserted in the pipe part 193A, and the catalyst 194 is fixed to the pipe part 193A by narrowing the both end parts side simultaneously narrower than the catalyst assembly body 217 of the pipe part 193A. Since the both ends part of the pipe part are nearly simultaneously narrowed, the number of manufacturing processes can be reduced as compared with the conventional method. Since the two spacers are inserted into the pipe part in a state of fitting to the catalyst, the catalyst fixing method can be simplified as compared with the case where the spacer members are inserted into the cylinder member in addition to the catalyst.
