Abstract:
To provide a catalyst for hydroxycarbonylation of an alkene, a metal complex, and a method for producing a carboxylic acid compound, which enable efficient production of a carboxylic acid compound by a simpler method than before without using a compound susceptible to lose activity in air and a compound having high toxicity.SOLUTION: Provided is a catalyst for hydroxycarbonylation of an alkene, represented by formula (1a): MHkXlL1mL2n (1a). In the formula, M represents at least one metal atom selected from the group consisting of atoms of Periodic Table Group 8-12 and chromium atom; X represents a halogen atom; L1 represents a ligand comprising an atom of Periodic Table Group 14-16; L2 represents a ligand comprising at least one atom selected from the group consisting of nitrogen atom and phosphorus atom; k represents a number of 1 or 2; l represents a number of 1-3; m represents a number of 0-5; and n represents a number of 1-6).SELECTED DRAWING: None
