Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an inexpensive catalyst material for methanization reaction having the same catalytic activity as a noble metal by applying acid dipping treatment to an alloy containing Ru and/or Pd in a specific ratio and substantially composed of the remainder of Ti.
CONSTITUTION: A catalyst is used to accelerate methanization reaction in the chemical reaction. The catalyst contains a material constituted by applying acid dipping treatment to an alloy containing 0.01-2.0wt.% Ru and substantially composed of the remainder of Ti. Pd may be used in place of Ru. Further, Ru and Pd may be compositely added in an amount of 0.01-2.0% in total. By this method, the catalyst has the same catalytic activity as a noble metal.
