Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high NOx purifying capacity and to enhance heat resistance and poisoning resistance by using a catalyst obtained by supporting alkali metal, Ti and at least one of Rh, Pt and Pd on a porous carrier as active components.
SOLUTION: In a fuel jet type car gasoline engine, exhaust gas is discharged through an exhaust pipe 19 and an exhaust gas purifying catalyst 20. This exhaust gas purifying catalyst 20 purifies nitrogen oxide in combustion exhaust gas in the presence of reductive gases such as carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon in the exhaust gas and is obtained by supporting alkali metal, Ti and at least one of Rh, Pt and Pd on a porous carrier as active components. Or, this catalyst 20 is obtained by supporting at least one of Rh, Pt and Pd, at least one of La and Ce, at least one of Na, Li, K and Rb, Mg and Ti on a porous carrier as active components.
