Abstract:

To provide a catalyst particle that has the molecular sieve action and the high catalytic activity, and to provide a method for manufacturing a derivative of an aromatic compound using the same.

The catalyst particle is characterized in that the whole surface of each particulate solid catalyst is coated by zeolite film having the molecular sieve action. The method is characterized by selectively manufacturing a para- isomer of dialkylbenzenes by causing the raw materials containing benzene and/or an alkylbenzene to react by disproportionation, alkylation, transalkylation and the like in the presence of the catalyst particle.
