Abstract:
To obtain a catalyst having a low halogen content and an improved activity of polymerizing an organosiloxane by mixing a specified short-chain linear phosphazene with a linear siloxane.
This catalyst is prepared by mixing a short-chain phosphazene represented by the formula: X3-p(HO)pP(NPX2)mNP(O)X2 (wherein X is a halogen selected from among F, Cl, Br and I; (m) is 0-6; and (p) is 0 or 1) with a linear siloxane having a viscosity of 1-5,000cSt and represented by the formula; R 1xR2yR3zSiO(R4R5SiO)wSiR1xR2yR3z (wherein R1 to R5 are each a 1-40C monovalent hydrocarbon group; (x), (y) and (z) are each 0-3 and satisfy the conditions: x+y+z=3; and (w) is 0 or a positive number).
