Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the superior mechanical strength and corrosion resistance of carboxylate by containing aluminum, magnesium and silicon respectively in the given range and using a silica-alumina-magnesia as a carrier in a palladium containing carrier catalyst used for preparing carboxylate.
SOLUTION: In a palldium containing carrier catalyst used for preparing carboxylate by reacting aldehyde with alcohol under the presence of oxygen, a silica-alumina-magnesia containing aluminum of 5-40wt.% as Al2O3, magnesium of 3-30wt.% as MgO and silicon of 50-92wt.% as SiO2 is used as a carrier. At that time, it is preferable to use acrolein or methacrolein as aldehyde and methanol as alcohol. The specific surface area for the carrier is preferably 10-700m2/g, and also it is preferable that burning is carried out, for example, at 200-800°C in the adjustment stage.
