Title:
CATALYST FOR PURIFYING FINE PARTICLES IN EXHAUST GAS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS627447
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled catalyst prevented from deactivation at high temp., easy to prepare and useful for purifying exhaust gas, by supporting copper and an alkali metal by a ceramic filter and further supporting both of molybdenum and vanadium in a specific ratio by said filter.

CONSTITUTION: A copper compound such as copper chloride, an alkali metal compound such as sodium hydroxide and elements or compounds of molybdenum (A) and vanadium (B) are supported by a ceramic filter having a ceramic foam shape to obtain an objective catalyst. The support amounts of the above- mentioned components (A), (B) are desirably set so that an elemental ratio V/Mo is 0.007W0.5. Because thus obtained objective catalyst is easy to prepare and the combustion activity of fine particles thereof is not lost even if said catalyst is exposed to high temp., said catalyst is extremely useful for collecting and burning fine particles in the exhaust gas of a diesel engine.
