To provide a catalyst support able to express the NEMCA (non-faradaic electrochemical modification of catalytic activity) effect even if there is no external power supply, and an electret used for the same, a method of manufacturing a catalytic reaction system, and a method of manufacturing the electret for the catalyst support.
The catalyst support activates a catalyst by using static electricity accumulated in the electret, and the electret for the catalyst support is obtained by imparting stable electrostatic charge to a dielectric surface including an ion conductor and a piezoelectric body by a direct current electric field treatment. The method of manufacturing the catalytic reaction system includes supporting the catalyst and a current collector so that an electrostatic field effect is introduced to the catalyst and/or the current collector. The method of manufacturing the electret for the catalyst support includes applying the direct current electric field treatment to the dielectric surface including the ion conductor and the piezoelectric body to impart the stable electrostatic charge.
