Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst support for production of ethylene oxide which has high performance.SOLUTION: In a method of producing a catalyst support for production of ethylene oxide from ethylene, a support is formed by baking a raw material containing an alumina raw powder having the α-alumina structure, and the alumina raw powder having the α-alumina structure contains an alumina raw powder having a specified α-alumina structure of a BET specific surface area of 0.80-1.40 m/g and an average particle size of secondary particles consisting of aggregate of primary particles of 10-30 μm. The catalyst support has a pore volume of 0.50-0.70 ml/g.
