Abstract:

To provide a catalyst temperature calculation device for enabling highly accurate calculation of the temperature of a catalyst while reducing a calculation load.SOLUTION: A CPU 52 estimates the temperature of a three-way catalyst 24 in the way of dividing a region from the upstream side of the three-way catalyst 24 to the downstream side into three parts, namely, a front end part, a central part, and a rear end part so as to make the thermal capacity of the central part greater than the thermal capacity of each of the front end part and the rear end part. That means CPU 52 calculates the temperature of the central part, considering that heat transfers from the front end part to the central part when the temperature of the front end part is higher than the temperature of the central part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
