Abstract:
To provide a catalyst unit for reduction of a NOx compound in a gas stream.
The catalyst unit for reduction of the NOx compound in the emission gas stream has a supporting structure 10 defining a channel 9, wherein the supporting structure 10 has a layer 11 of Ag/Al2O3 for converting NOx to an intermediate gas species and also has a decomposition layer 12 of a material without containing any part of oxidation and any acidic part, wherein the material consists of SiC, Au, silicate, basic metal oxide, active carbon or soot, and the decomposition layer 12 accelerates and simplifies decomposition of the intermediate gas species formed in the layer 11 into N2.
