Title:
CATALYST WATER-SPLITTING POWER GENERATION SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2019003730
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide a system for generating a power as a new recyclable energy utilizing a catalytic action of porous carbon.SOLUTION: A water-splitting power generation system comprises a power generation body 20 having a conductor including porous carbon 21. The water-splitting power generation system is arranged so as to generate an electromotive force by water decomposition between positive and negative electrodes, in which water is brought into contact with an interface of the porous carbon 21 of the power generation body 20 to decompose a water molecule and produce electrons by a decomposition reaction including a hydrogen generating reaction from 4HO via 4H()+4OH() to 2H+4e+O+2HO and an oxygen generating reaction, and the electrons thus produced are collected by the negative electrode. In the water-splitting power generation system, the power generation body 20 having a conductor including porous carbon includes a carbon sheet 21, and one or each face of the carbon sheet 21 is sealed by a hydrophobic film 22 or layer which is capable of restricting or shutting off water penetration thereinto when it is put in contact with water.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
