Title:
CATALYST WITH MFI STRUCTURE AND ITS USE IN AROMATIZATION OF 2-12C HYDROCARBONS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05212289
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the conversion ratio and the aromatic selectivity of a composite catalyst by mixing zeolite MFI or zeolite A/MFI with a matrix, molding a mixture of them to form a supporting body, supporting metals on the supporting body and introducing halogen, optionally gallium and/or zinc to the body.

CONSTITUTION: A composite catalyst comprises a MFI(A/MFI) structure zeolite which is consolidated by gallium and/or zinc in the form of oxide and contains at least one element selected from the group constituted by alkali metals and alkaline-earth metals, a matrix supported by at least one noble metal of the platinum group and an additional metal. Use of a composite catalyst containing at least one halogen (preferably chlorine) and optionally at least one alkali metal or alkaline earth metal (preferably lithium or potassium) makes improved catalytic performance. The catalyst can be used in the reaction of aromatization alkanes having 2-12 carbon atoms per molecule.
