Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent catalysts from deformation and damage as well as promote burning efficiency by a method wherein temperature distribution state in a sectional area of a catalytic layer outlet is detected by a infrared camera, and based on the above survey, both a fuel injection device and a gas volume distribution adjuster are controlled by a controller.

CONSTITUTION: Burning condition of a catalysts layer 5 is taken by a infrared camera 7 through a peep window 6, then these infrared pictures are converted into the temperature distribution pictures by a controller 8, which are arithmetically processed. Based on the data processed, a control signal is sent to a damper gas flow adjuster 4 so that each unit of catalyst layer may keep an uniformed temperature, consequently, open shut operation control of a damper is conducted and also each unit is obtained an uniformed gas flow rate. After the gas flow rate has been uniformalized, then set-position of gas flow distribution adjuster 4 has been fixed. In next step, a control signal is sent from the controller 8 to a fuel control valve 2 of a fuel injector 3. Which has been continued for uniform flow control, so that temperature distribution in the catalysts layer may become further uniformalize to open the control valve corresponding to the catalyst unit of the layer having a low temperature and also to close the similar valve corresponding to the catalysts unit of the same having a high temperature, as mentioned the above, fuel injection control to the catalysts layer are conducted correctly and uniformly.
