Title:
CATALYTIC COMBUSTION TYPE THERMOELECTRIC GENERATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2012105512
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a catalytic combustion type thermoelectric generator operable to convert heat of combustion of a supplied fuel stream into electricity, which achieves high electric power generation of mW class or higher.

A thermoelectric generator device comprises a plurality of thermopile element units connected in series and includes: a substrate including a membrane part; and thermopile elements made of thermoelectric conversion material disposed on the substrate. Each of the thermopile elements on the substrate includes: a catalyst coating part (high-temperature part) provided by coating an oxidation catalyst at a position corresponding to a center portion of the membrane; and opposing end parts (low-temperature parts), which are the remaining parts of the thermopile element. The thermoelectric generator device has an array structure, in which the plurality of thermopile element units are electrically connected in series, and the low-temperature part of N-type pattern of one of two thermopiles disposed on two opposing sides of one thermopile element unit with the membrane as the center, is electrically connected in series with the low-temperature part of P-type pattern of the subsequent thermopile unit.
