Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst converter excellent in OSC (Oxygen Storage Capacity) performance and NOx reduction performance.SOLUTION: A catalyst converter 10 is provided that is composed of a substrate 1 with cell structure and a catalyst layer 3 formed on a cell wall surface of the substrate 1, the catalyst layer 3 is constituted of an upstream side catalyst layer 4 arranged at an upstream side of a flow direction of exhaust gas in the substrate 1 and a downstream catalyst layer 5 arranged at a downstream side of the flow direction of the exhaust gas, the upstream side catalyst layer 4 is formed of: a carrier including AlO-CeO-ZrOthree-dimensional compound oxide (ACZ material) and AlO-ZrOtwo-dimensional compound oxide (AZ material); and at least Rh which is a noble metal catalyst carried on the carrier, the downstream side catalyst layer 5 is formed of the carrier and Pd or Pt which are noble metal catalysts carried on the carrier, and mass rate of ACZ material/(ACZ material+AZ material) is in the range of 0.33 to 0.5 in the carrier of the upstream catalyst layer 4, and 75 mass% or more of Rh is carried on the AlO-ZrOtwo-dimensional compound oxide in the upstream side catalyst layer 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
