Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catamaran ship of which ship resistance can be reduced and stability can be enhanced during sailing.SOLUTION: A catamaran ship such as a passenger ship, a fishing boat, a sightseeing boat or the like which has a reduced resistance and an enhanced stability. On a forward part between hulls 3 on both sides of the catamaran ship 1, a hydrofoil 7 is so provided as to be capable of being inclined at a required inclination angle, trim tabs 11 are provided on stern parts 5 of the hulls 3 on both sides of the catamaran ship 1 and each tab is so formed as to be freely inclined at a required trim angle. For the purpose of sailing of the catamaran ship 1 at a prescribed high speed, the hydrofoil 7 is controlled at a prescribed inclination angle for pitching of the catamaran ship 1, each trim tab 11 of the stern part 5 is controlled at a required trim angle for rolling of the catamaran ship 1 so that sailing is performed with control for reduction of swinging, whereby fuel efficiency is enhanced and stable high speed sailing can be achieved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
