PURPOSE: A cataplasma, containing metyl vinyl ether maleic anhydride copolymer and latex as a plaster component, capable of stabilizing main drug components for a long period, stable for a long period with improved tackiness flocculation, water holding property and releasability.
CONSTITUTION: A cataplasma containing 0.1W10.0wt%, preferably 0.5W5.0wt%, based on the total amount of a plaster, methyl vinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer, and 1.0W40wt%, preferably 2.0W25wt%, based on the total amount of the plaster, latex emulsion having about 40W70wt% rubber content. The incorporation of 0.1W15.0wt% hydrophilic high polymer, e.g. sodium polyacrylate or sodium alginate, further improves the releasability and water holding property. A salicylic acid ester, camphor, peppermint oil, vitamin, antihistamic agent, etc. may be cited as the main drug components to be used.
