PURPOSE: To obtain a cataract operation apparatus wherein emulsifying suction of a soft nucleus lentis and grinding of a hard nucleus lentis can be done by generating ultrasonic wave while a hollow ultrasonic chip is reciprocally moved and applying a laser light from a fiber part inserted in the ultrasonic chip.
CONSTITUTION: A hollow ultrasonic chip 23 is penetrated into the outside tube 21 formed in a hand piece 2 and a fiber end probe 22 is penetrated into the chip 23. A perfusate is made flow in the outside tube 21 and a gap between the ultrasonic chip 23 and the probe 22 is made to be a suction port 24 for sucking the perfusate, a ground nucleus lentis, etc. The ultrasonic chip 23 is reciprocally movable by an ultrasonic oscillation generated by means of a piezoelectric element 231 to emulsify a relatively soft nucleus lentis by means of the generated ultrasonic wave. In addition, the probe 22 is connected with an infrared laser light source through the fiber 321 and round dissection of a lenticular front capsule and grinding of a nucleus lentis are performed by means of the laser light irradiated from the apex.
