Abstract:
To provide a cathode active material of high capacity which realizes superior load characteristics and a high initial charge and discharge efficiency of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery.
The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is constructed of a cathode, an anode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte, and performs charge and discharge by movement of lithium ions between the cathode and the anode. The cathode is composed of a cathode mixture and a cathode current collector. The cathode mixture contains a cathode active material, a conductive agent, and a binder. As a cathode active material, Li1+x-a(MnyM1-y)1-xO2b(0a0.3, 0b0.1, 0x0.4, 0y1, 0.951+x-a1.15, M is at least one transition metal excluding manganese (Mn)) is used.
