Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode active material in which the discharge capacity per volume, charge discharge cycle characteristics, mixture density when used in an electrode plate, and electrical contact between particles can be improved.SOLUTION: A negative electrode active material contains large diameter powder having a first average grain size, and small diameter powder having a second average grain size different from the first average grain size. The ratio of first and second average grain sizes is; first average grain size:second average grain size=1.2:1-20:1. The ratio of content (mass) of the large diameter powder and small diameter powder is; large diameter powder:small diameter powder=25:1-1:3. The large diameter powder and small diameter powder include an alloy layer. Thermoelastic no diffusion transformation takes place, when the alloy layer releases or absorbs metal ions.
