To enable an unaccustomed user to rapidly detach and exchange a radiation part including an electron source while maintaining accuracy of arrangement of an X-ray source.
A cathode assembly for a rotating anode type X-ray source includes two portions, that is, a focus adjustment part mechanically connected to residual part of the X-ray source and fixed and arranged correspondingly to an anode, and the separated radiation part which holds the electron source and is detachably connected to the focus adjustment part. The electron source is fixed and attached to the radiation part and accurately aligned at the focus adjustment part. The focus adjustment part and the radiation part are related to each other and mechanically aligned at the time of exchange.
