Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode electrode wherein a current distribution ratio is improved, and the diffusion of an emitted electron is suppressed.
SOLUTION: The cathode electrode 110 of a light source tube comprises in an external vacuum container at least one of an anode electrode 130 including a fluorescent substance film 140 adhering thereto, a cathode electrode 110 facing the anode electrode 130, and a mesh-shaped grid electrode 120 disposed substantially in parallel between the anode electrode 130 and the cathode electrode 110 apart from both the anode electrode 130 and the cathode electrode 110. It further comprises a conductor substrate 111 including a a plurality of dome-shaped protruded portions 110a on one surface side thereof including a a plurality of crater-shaped recessed portions 110b formed on the top thereof, an electric field emission type electron emitting material 112 disposed on the surface of the protruded portion 110a of the conductor substrate 111 and the surface of the recess 110b, and a metal film 113 disposed on the flat portion of the one surface side of the conductor substrate 111 and on the other surface side of the same.
