To provide a manufacturing method capable of restraining deterioration at an initial use stage of a cathode-ray tube to ultimately improve a life characteristic of the cathode-ray tube.
In this manufacturing method of a cathode-ray tube, a reaction type getter 3 composed by filling a getter material containing at least barium- aluminum alloy powder and nickel powder and/or nickel alloy powder in a metallic vessel is installed in the inside, the air in the inside is evacuated and sealing is carried out, thereafter the getter material is reacted by heating the getter 3 to emit barium into the inside, and gas remaining in the inside is adsorbed and stuck to the inside wall surface. In a process of the evacuation (S7), the getter 3 is heated at a temperature higher than the temperature for heating the reaction type getter by the ambient temperature in the evacuation process and lower than the temperature for starting the reaction of the getter material.
