To provide a cathode-ray tube having a high performance conductive film which is formable under low temperature heat treatment by forming a conductive film of a conductive film forming coating solution, containing a sol with Ru metal fine grains dispersed in it and containing the metal fine-grain at a specific weight ratio.
A conductive film-forming coating solution contains 10 pts.wt. or more of Ru metal fine-grain to 100 pts.wt. of a conductive film forming component and is conditioned to contain the metal fine-grain in a sol form. When this coating solution is applied, micropores are formed in the conductive film, and when alkoxide of silicon, titanium or zirconium or a partial hydrolysate of these elements is applied thereon, the coating solution infiltrates into the pores to improve the strength of the conductive film. Additionally, when the conductive film is formed in this way, there will be no by-products, nor the degradation of film strength between the conductive film and a film above. The superior conductive film can be obtained by a simple method such as spraying or spin coating, and since the conductive film is formed of metal fine grains, electromagnetic wave is easily shielded, and the conductive film can be manufactured at a low cost.
