Title:
CATHODE RAY TUBE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS57103241
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the contrast and distinction of a picture by coating phosphor particles on which pigment is attached partially of the surface so that the pigment attached side is faced to the bulb face.

CONSTITUTION: A phosphor suspension is contained in a glass bulb 1 for a cathode ray tube and is allowed to stand, then the phosphor particles 21 on only a part of surface of which pigment is attached are sedimented onto the bulb face 11 facing the pigment to the bulb face 11, and form a fluorescent screen. When, a pigment with sufficiently greater specific gravity than the phosphor such as W or Mo is used as the pigment 22 to sediment the phosphor particles 21 in the suspension 2 facing the pigment attached side to the bulb face 11, and a fluorescent screen is coated. Thus the pigment is seen when the fluorescent screen is seen from the outside direction B, and a picture with improved contrast and distinction can be obtained providing color of the pigment such as W or Mo is near black.
