Title:
CATHODE FOR RECOVERING METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62297485
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily separate the fine copper particles deposited on a cathode from the cathode and the discharge the particles to the outside of an electrolytic cell by using the cathode obtained by forming a resinous binder layer contg. fine carbon particles on an electrically conductive substrate when copper is deposited and recovered from a copper waster soln. contg. hydrochloric acid by electrolysis. CONSTITUTION:A copper ion is reduced and deposited on the cathode and recovered by electrolysis from the copper waste soln. contg. hydrochloric acid generated in the etching of a printed circuit board, etc. In this case, the cathode to be used is obtained by the following process. Namely, a material obtained by kneading 100pts.wt. binder of phenolic resin, xylene resin, acrylic resin, epoxy resin, fluororesin, etc., with 10-100pts.wt. fine carbon particles is coated on a cathode substrate formed with graphite having excellent resistance to corrosion, dried, heated, and then cured to obtain the conductive plastic film-coated cathode. The fine copper particles deposited on the surface of the cathode by electrolysis are separated by the light vibration of the cathode, taken out to the outside of the electrolytic cell along with the waste electrolyte, separated from the electrolyte, and recovered. Since copper is not stuck on the surface of the cathode, the exchange of the cathode is not required.
