Title:
CATHODE STRUCTURE AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61114434
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce amount of heat distortion under operation by forming a support of invar alloy, by melting-metal-quenching method, in order to fix base metal and electron radiation material on a negative electrode sleeve, and to suspend the sleeve from a negative electrode support cylinder.

CONSTITUTION: A cathode structure of quick-motion type used in a Braun tube or the like is formed by fixing a base metal 2 which prepares electron radiation material 1 on the upper part of a sleeve 3 housing a heater 10, and by welding one end of a ribbon-shaped support 4 and the other end respectively to the lowermost part of the sleeve 3 and a negative electrode support cylinder 5, in the posture in which the sleeve is suspended. Together with making the support 4 with invar alloy such as Fe-Ni or stainless steel, it is formed by melting-metal-quenching method, in which melting metal is supplied from a nozzle to the surface of a cooling roll rotating at high speed and then solidified. Hence the support having less heat distortion, without nearly recrystallized and grain-grown, can be obtained, with fluctuation of cut-off voltage being decreased.
