To obtain the subject fibers having excellent clearness, color developability and color fastness when dyed and useful in the underwear field and the like by including a specified amount of polymer microparticles produced by polymerization of a specified amount of a styrenesulfonic acid compound, etc.
The cationic dye-dyeable cellulose fibers are obtained by incorporating cellulose fibers such as cuprammonium rayon or viscose rayon with 1-40 wt.%, based on the total fibers, of polymer microparticles (pref. 25-200 nm in average size) made from, as monomer components, (A) 3-20 wt.% of a styrenesulfonic acid compound, (B) 50-92 wt.% of styrene and (C) 5-20 wt.% of a crosslinking agent having two or more unsaturated double bonds such as ethylene glycol di(meth)acrylate. It is preferable that the polymer microparticles are synthesized by emulsion polymerization or soap-free emulsion polymerization.
