To provide a cationic electrodeposition coating material composition which has a good corrosion resistance and achieves a low VOC in preparation.
This cationic electrodeposition coating material composition includes (A) an aromatic compound containing at least one kind member selected from the group consisting of (a-1) a phenol compound having aromatic rings of from two or more to ten or less and (a-2) a hydrocarbon compound having aromatic rings of two or more to ten or less; wherein (A) this aromatic compound includes an aromatic compound having a hydroxyl number of 5-200, (B) an amino group-containing epoxy resin, and (C) a blocked isocyanate hardener; wherein (A) this aromatic compound is contained in a content of 1-35 pts.mass based on 100 mass of the sum total of the resin solid contents of (A) this aromatic compound and (B) the amino group-containing epoxy resin.
