Title:
CATIONIC FINE PARTICLE GEL AND PREPARATION THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3713841
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cationic fine particle gel which has excellent heat resistance, water resistance and other properties and is useful as an additive for a thermoplastic resin for use in injection molding at a high temp. by bringing a counter ion of a quaternary ammonium base in a cationic fine particle gel obtd. by a predetermined method to a specified ion.
SOLUTION: A counter ion (e.g. EtSO4- ion) of a quaternary ammonium base of a cationic fine particle gel obtd. by polymerizing a polymerizable vinyl monomer (e.g. styrene) using a cationic surfactant having a quaternary ammonium base (e.g. a surfactant obtd. by polymerizing styrene and N,N- dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate and then reacting the polymer with diethylsulfuric acid and glycidyl methacrylate to quaternize the polymer) is brought to a monovalent metal fluoride ion, pref. BF4-, PF6-, ASF6-, or SbF6-. The fine particle gel can be applied to chemicals for papermaking, ion exchange resins, antistatic agents, paints, antimicrobial agents, mordants and other applications.
