Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To power-save a waiting state of an emergency broadcasting information at a CATV receiving terminal equipment.
SOLUTION: At a waiting state time, a tuner 1 is tuned with an RF default. When an emergency broadcasting detector 3 detects an emergency broadcasting detection signal, a power source controller 13 starts a main power source. A controller 10 reads a channel RF emergency transmitted via an emergency information descriptor from a nonvolatile memory 12, and transits the tuner 1 to the RF emergency. A CATV reception terminal equipment detects the descriptor and judges that an installation area of the receiving terminal equipment corresponds to an object to be emergency broadcast if an area code in the descriptor coincides with a regional code stored in the memory 12 and an emergency broadcasting start/end flag is = 1, and warns emergency by means of an alarm buzzer 11. The emergency notice is finished when the start/ end flag becomes '0', tunes the tuner 1 with the RF default, turns off the main power source, and again returns to the waiting state.
