Abstract:

To improve life of an end mill by strengthening a boundary between an end cutting edge and a radius cutting edge of the CBN radius end mill.

The CBN radius end mill includes a sintered CBN compact 1 bonded to an end of a main body 2, and a cutting edge 3 formed on a tip of the same. A negative land 7 with a rake angle set in a range between -30 and -50, and a wedge angle constant at each part of the cutting edge 3 is formed on a rake face 4 along an entire region of the cutting edge. Further, a joint cutting edge 3b having a concave angle 0 which is smaller than a concave angle 1 of the cutting edge and which satisfies a relationship 0.502 is formed between the end cutting edge 3a and the radius cutting edge 3c.
