PURPOSE: To provide a ceiling access door having high safety, which is so constructed that even in the case of unhanding an inner frame after locking between an outer frame and the inner frame is released to open the ceiling access door, the lowering motion of the inner frame is once stopped to prevent the inner frame from being fully lowered at a breath.

CONSTITUTION: A ceiling access door comprises an outer frame 1 and an inner frame 4 which is freely turnable in relation to the outer frame 1 between the state of being stored in the outer frame 1 and the state of being projected from the outer frame l downward. The inner frame 4 is supported on the outer frame 1 in such a manner that a shaft body 11 provided on the forward end of an arm which is freely slid in the direction of projecting from one longitudinal end of the opposite side plates near one longitudinal end of one set of opposite side plates is freely movably engaged with guide grooves 12 formed near each one longitudinal end of one set of opposite side plate. The outer frame 1 is integrally provided with a collar part 5 extending over the whole periphery of the lower end outside, and the inner frame 4 is integrally provided with a collar part 7 extending over the whole periphery on the inside and outside of the lower end. The outside collar part 7 of the inner frame 4 comprises a horizontal plate part 7a having a larger width than that of the collar part 5 of the outer frame and a plate part 7b raised from the periphery of the plate part 7a.
