As for the ceiling air cleaner, an air curtain blow-out port 5 is provided on a machine body 4 set on a ceiling 3, a chamber 2 is divided into one space 2a and the other space 2b with the air curtain 6 from the air curtain blow-out port 5, an air suction port 7 facing the one space 2a and an air blow-out port 8 facing the other space 2b are provided on the machine body 4, and further an air cleaner 9 and an air fan 10 are provided in the machine body 4. The blow-out air quantity Q1 from the air blow-out port 8 is set larger than the air quantity Q2 sucked from the other space 2b (Q1Q2). The one space 2a is evacuated of air and the blow-out air quantity Q1 from the air blow-out port 8 is varied by an air quantity adjuster 11 when necessary, to vary air curtain flow speed V from the air curtain blow-out port 5.
