PURPOSE: To smoothly cut a ceiling material without obstructing a glance at the time of cutting while smoothly collecting dust without generating the power loss of a motor.
CONSTITUTION: A ceiling cutting tool has a housing 6 having a motor or drive mechanism received therein, the base 5 attached to the leading end of the housing 6 and sliding along the rear surface of a ceiling material and the edge tool 2 whose leading end is allowed to protrude from the edge hole bored in the base 5. The ceiling material is cut by the driven edge tool 2 while the base 5 is moved along the rear surface of the ceiling material. In this constitution, a transparent dust collecting case 33 opened on the side of the base 5 and closed on the side opposite to the base 5 is attached to the surface opposite to the surface from which the edge tool 2 protrudes of the base 5 corresponding to the edge tool 2.
