PURPOSE: To improve the classification accuracy by providing the assist of the dicision by displaying the minute data to the particle cells, when the reclassification is carried out visually after an automatic classification of the cells, when the classification of the particle cells is automated.
CONSTITUTION: A sample is let flow to a flow cell 4 having a photographing area and a particle detecting area, the passage of the particles is detected by an optical detector 22, a flush lamp 1 is lighted, the optical still image of the particles is photographed, and after classifying the particles by the method of pattern recognition a reclassification by size is carried out according to the requirement of an examination engineer. Consequently, by displaying the minute data to the cells together with the optical still image, the deciding assist of the classification by size by the visual observation is carried out, and the effect to improve the classification accuracy is obtained.
