Title:
CELL FOR CONTINUOUS PRESSURE ELECTROPLATING FOR STEEL STRIP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03207893
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To effectively inhibit the adverse effects of bubbles liable to occur in the course of plating by forming a cell into a hermitically sealed structure, sealing the inlet and the outlet of a steel strip, and supplying a pressurized gas from the upper part of the cell. CONSTITUTION:A cell 1 for continuous pressure electroplating is hermetically sealed by means of a cell cover 2, and a steel strip inlet 5 and a steel strip outlet 6 are held airtightly by means of dam rolls 3 and roll seals 4. Electroplating is applied to a steel strip 8 in a state where a plating bath in the cell 1 is pressurized by means of an N2 gas pressed into the cell 1 via a pressurizing N2 gas supply pipe 7. Bubbles are generated from an electrode part 11 by means of electrolytic reaction. Since the inside of the cell is pressurized, the generated bubbles and the accumulated bubbles are reduced in their diameters and, as a result, the adverse effects of them on a plated product can be minimized. By this method, the high-quality plated steel strip can be continuously produced under stable workability.
