Title:
CELL CULTURE VESSEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6398377
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To assure sufficient gas-permeability for culture and prevent the contamination with bacteria, by completely sealing an opening of a vessel e.g. with a fitting lid using a packing, boring an opening to the packing at a position coinciding with the opening of the lid and covering both openings with a microporous film.

CONSTITUTION: A vessel 1 is provided with a screw lid or fitting lid 3 having an opening 4 at the center. The lid 3 contains a packing 5 which can be hermetically contacted with the whole top end of the vessel mouth 6 when the lid 3 is screwed or fitted to the vessel 1. An opening 7 is bored to the packing 5 in a manner that at least a part of the opening coincides with the opening 4 of the lid 3. The opening 4 of the lid and/or the opening 7 of the packing are covered with a microporous film 9 made of a hydrophobic film such as nylon film. A tissue culture vessel having the above structure has sufficiently high air-permeability for the culture of tissue, enables the tissue culture without causing the drying of the medium and the contamination with bacteria and is effective in minimizing the use of a clean room.
