To obtain a new cell differentiation inducer, comprising a derivative represented by a specific formula, having excellent differentiation inducing actions and anticancer actions caused thereby and remarkably useful for treating cancers and condylomas.
This cell differentiation inducer comprises a 1,3-dioxolebenzene derivative represented by formula I (R1 and R2 are each H, an alkenyl, an aryl or an alkylcarbonyl which may have a substituent group), preferably a compound represented by formula II, etc. The derivative is preferably obtained by extracting, e.g. Anthriscus sylvestris with an extracting solvent such as methanol and purifying the resultant extract by a column chromatography. The daily dose thereof applied to an adult is preferably 1-10000mg administered in one to several divided portions.
