PURPOSE: To enable the fusion of a pair of different cells in high efficiency by forming a plane having high electric force line density in a cell liquid and putting different kinds of cells to both sides of the plane, and to enable the recovery of only the fused cells by attaching a recovery path at the sinking zone of the fused cells.

CONSTITUTION: Cell fusion is carried out by applying an electric stimulation to a cell liquid held between a pair of oppositely placed electrodes 2a, 2b. A pair of insulators 4a, 4b to constrict the electric force line are placed symmetrically between the electrodes with a prescribed gap and a recovery path 10 to guide the fused cells through the gap 11 to a recovery port 8 is provided. Since a plane having high density of electric force line is formed in the cell liquid and different kinds of cells A, B are supplied to both sides of the plane, a pair of different kinds of cells can be preferentially fused. Furthermore, the fused cells can be exclusively recovered through the recovery path placed at the sinking zone of the fused cell.
