Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell search method and a circuit capable of making a cell search without using a matched filter.
SOLUTION: This cell circuit is equipped with a code generator 12 which generates a P-search code in a slot timing identification step 1, an S-search code in a frame timing identification step 2, and a P-scrambling code in a scrambling code identification step 3. A correlator 11 carries out inverse spreading processing by the use of the P-search code in step 1, inverse spreading processing by the use of the S-search code in step 2, and inverse spreading processing by the use of the scrambling code in step 3. A power calculator 13 calculates a correlation power. A memory 14 stores the output of the power calculator 13. A detector 15 retrieves the maximum value of the correlation power stored in the memory 14. A judging part 16 judges the average and maximum value of the correlation power stored in the memory 14 by means of threshold coefficients in steps 2 and 3. A control 10 controls the operational timing of the above parts. The circuit is provided with the above six constituent units.
