To provide a cellulose acylate film which does not generate color pigmentation, is suitable for an optical film and is excellent in transparency in the cellulose acylate film manufactured by a melt-cast filming method and to provide its manufacturing method, in addition to provide a high-quality retardation film, a polarizing plate, an optical compensation film, an anti-reflection film and an image display device using the cellulose acylate film.
The manufacturing method of a cellulose acylate film comprises melt-cast filming a composition comprising a cellulose acylate that has a specific acyl substitution degree, and that has a residual sulfate in an amount equal to or less than a definite amount (in terms of an amount of a sulfur atom) to form a cellulose acylate film, in addition a cellulose acylate film manufactured by the manufacturing method, a high-quality retardation film, a polarizing plate, an optical compensation film, an anti-reflection film and an image display device using it are provided.
