PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cellulose acylate solution having excellent stability with time and a low viscosity in a practicable dope concentration range. SOLUTION: A cellulose acylate in which the total of acyl substitution degree at the 2- and the 3-positions is >=1.70 and <=1.90 and the acyl substitution degree at the 6-position is >=0.88 is used.
