To provide a cellulose acylate film contributing to the optical compensation of a thinned VA-mode liquid crystal display device, and to provide a method for producing the cellulose acylate film.
The cellulose acylate film comprises a cellulose acylate meeting the relationships: 2.1≤A+B≤2.4 and 0.8≤B≤1.1 (wherein A is the substitution degree of acetyl groups; and B is the substitution degree of propionyl groups), and is 30-50 μm in thickness, ≤0.2% in haze, 40-80 nm in Re(590), and 100-300 nm in Rth(590).
