To provide a cellulose ester film and a production method for the cellulose ester film, which can improve contrast performance, inhibit blocking like mutual sticking of films while excels in mat effect and further improves productivity by inhibiting filter clogging in an extrusion processing.

The cellulose ester film is made through melt casting method, wherein there are 50-500 pieces/g of gel fillers with a gel size of 0.5-30 μm and 0-2 pieces/10 g of gel fillers with a gel size of 50 μm or more respectively in terms of a size of gel filler, in the melt-mixture containing the cellulose ester.
